The Tee Up For Kids Foundation

The Tee-up for Kids Foundation has been established to encourage all golfers in Victoria – both professional and amateur – to promote the safety and wellbeing of children who are living in care in Victoria.

Under the guidance of the Child Safety Commissioner of Victoria, the Foundation seeks to provide opportunities to integrate more than 5000 children living in care in Victoria back into the community to give them a better chance in life.

These children are vulnerable because of the substantial levels of trauma they have suffered. Much of it has been caused by severe abuse and/or neglect. Their trauma is not visible, but their needs are real.

Clinical research shows that fundamental and sound care, supported by appropriate professional services, can make a difference in assisting even the most damaged children achieve happier lives and brighter futures.

The Foundation believes that the generosity of golfers will give these children the same hopes and dreams that we have for our own children.

Golf is one of the major global sports

In Victoria alone it is responsible for the generation of more $600 million towards the State’s Gross State Product and employment for more than 9500 people full-time, plus another 15,000 part-time.

Overall, more than 500,000 Victorians play golf each year and they spend more than $601million annually in the pursuit of their passion. They, and others, also spend more than $200 million per year on golf-related travel.

The game, its industry and its patrons now have the potential to make a major difference to young people who are in need of being connected to the community so they can lead fulfilling and purposeful lives.

The aim of the Tee-up for Kids Foundation is to raise funds for approved programs to help these young people fulfil their dreams.

Under the guidance of the Child Safety Commissioner of Victoria, the funded programs will seek to provide real and life-sustaining relationships for the young people in the communities in which they live.

The generosity of golfers will give them the same hopes and dreams that we have for our own children.

Golfers will make a real impact on a major community cause; one that will be recognised around the world.
