Golf Management Australia Supports Tee Up For Kids Foundation
Golf Management Australia (GMA) recently announced that on behalf of all its members, it has donated $1,000 to the Tee Up For Kids Foundation. Pictured is GMA Director, David Haggett handing over the cheque to Tee Up For Kids Foundation Chairman, Ian McPherson and Foundation Board member, Ian Stanley.
Commenting on the decision to support the Tee Up For Kids Foundation, GMA President David Burton said “The GMA Board has felt for some time that we would like to give something back to organisations providing community support, and Tee Up For Kids is the perfect recipient of our initial donation. We are very pleased to help such a wonderful cause and we appreciate the opportunity to assist”.
Ian McPherson added ”The Tee up for Kids Foundation was set up 12 months ago by a group of people who were committed to having a positive effect on the lives of the State’s most vulnerable children. The common denominator amongst the founders was their involvement in golf. Golf is our most popular and played sport, it encompasses all walks of life, it has social and competitive streams and it promotes good will, fair play and friendship. Tee up for Kids embodies these values and strives to enable our most needy, traumatised and powerless children to have happiness, an education and to enjoy good health”.
The Tee Up For Kids Foundation is passionately committed to ensuring basic opportunities that come automatically to kids in the broader community are also made available to children who are separated from family, up to 17 years old. Such as simple recreational experiences, educational bursaries or scholarships, often it may just be positive connection to a generous community through training and employment. Many of these young people, who live in residential care, or foster care, simply need encouragement and assistance. Tee Up For Kids is about raising money and seeking recourses so that children who don’t have life champions, who are not special in the eyes and heart of an adult, get a ‘good lie in life’s fairway’.
The Foundation is very grateful to GMA for this donation and it will put the money to good use in assisting children who need our help.
